Officers

Robert Gomer

President

Founding member of Cathedral City Historical Society and President from its inception in 2000.  Owner/Operator of an interior plant business since 1993 in the Coachella Valley.  Arrived in the valley in 1977 and has lived in Cathedral City since 1985.

 

Actively involved in a number of civic organizations over these years, having served on the boards of Friends of the Cathedral City Library, Cathedral City Chamber of Commerce, Cathedral City Senior Center, Desert Rainbow Foundation, Cathedral City Streets and Transportation and Planning Commissions, as well as the Cathedral City Council.  Other service includes President of his homeowners association.
 

Don Bradley
Treasurer and Secretary

Arrived in Cathedral City on November 1, 1999 after being appointed as City Manager of Cathedral City. Served in that position for 13 years, and retired on December 30, 2012. During that engagement was involved in many community activities and issues as well as maintaining residency in Cathedral City throughout and to the present, for a total residency of more than 25 years. During that time was very active and an Officer of the Cathedral City Day Rotary Club, and also still continue to be a member of the Saint Louis Catholic Church Finance Committee. After retirement I have been on the Historical Society Board of Directors, and currently serve as Secretary/Treasurer. Also after retirement, for several years was a member of Desert Arc’s Audit Committee, and have also served on the Salvation Army Board of Directors, including as Vice chair and for the last few years as Chairman.

Margie St. Anthony

Margie first came to the area in the early 1960s to help compile the travel publication, "Lou Jacobin's Guide to Alaska".  She left to attend school at the university in Mexico City.  She later moved to Alaska with the same travel publication.  Then, she returned to Cathedral City in the mid-1980s, becoming involved in Real Estate and rentals in the lower Cove.

Beverly Beirne

Beverly, an entrepreneur, has resided in Cathedral City for over 15 years. She has seen our town and the surrounding desert area evolve and grow over time. She served as the Society's Treasurer and Secretary for many years.

Julia Hause, Archivest

Julia Hause is a professional archivist and librarian with over a decade of experience.  She holds a Master in Library and Information Science from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) and a Post-Master's Certificate in Archival Studies from UCLA.  She has served as the Cathedral City Historical Society Archivist since 2018 and became a board member in 2019.  Julia currently works as the Archivist for the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum.
